Amber Albright was always one to not stray far from home. That’s why she’s perfectly in a good place as optician at our Maryville EyeCare Optical on Keller Lane.

Amber is a Maryville native, and a graduate of William Blount High School. Her love of working with people and an opportunity to enter a career that fits her to a “T” led her to enroll at Roane State and complete the school’s well-respected Opticianry Program. She is also ABO certified and NCLE certified. She is a specialist in frame styling, and contact lens training. Her certification also mean she stays on top of the latest in eyeglass lens materials and designs.

“I think eyes and vision are one of the most important parts of life. So eye care was a good career option for me,” she said. “It’s very rewarding to fit people with new eyewear and help them do the things they love to do.”

She fondly recalls the first time she helped a young child with new glasses. “Often, a child won’t realize what they’re not seeing until they get glasses,” she said. “Then, with newfound vision, it really does open up a whole new world for them. I absolutely love that look in their eyes the first time they are able to see clearly. That part of my job never gets old for me.”

Since graduating Roane State and achieving her Licensing, Amber has worked in Opticianry and now is thrilled to be practicing right here in her hometown, joining Eye Care Optical a division of Drs. Campbell, Cunningham, Taylor & Haun in 2019. “It’s a great atmosphere,” she said. “And great people to work with. We provide quality eye exams and quality eyewear. When you’re confident in the care and eye wear you offer, it’s easy to have fun at your job.”

She considers John Wolfenbarger, Optician Supervisor at Drs. Campbell, Cunningham, Taylor & Haun a mentor and a major influence on her career. “He’s not only a great boss, but a great leader. He’s very compassionate with staff and that makes us all want to be better at our jobs.”

When she’s not working, Amber enjoys reading (especially her Bible), board games, and painting. Her medium is acrylics, and you’ll find her relaxing and creating with a spectrum of subjects, including flowers, pets, and landscapes.
